West Point a Co-Educational English Medium School was founded in 1981. Located in Darjeeling -the foothills of the Himalayas, West Point is committed to providing a well-rounded primary and secondary school education. The school is affiliated to The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi. The first batch of candidates appeared in the ICSE examination in 1985 and a 100% pass percentage has been maintained after 1989 and this pass percentage has never gone below 94%.

Although the main aim of the school is to provide adequate facilities for active academic pursuit, sincere efforts have been made to inculcate in the students a sense of honesty, loyalty, dignity of labor and pride in national heritage, traditions and culture.

School Objectives

All in all, the school will monitor the emergence of students well-equipped not only to improve their own lot and that of the society but also to address, in the best possible manner, the various personal, social and moral problems which this complex human life has in abundance. Towards this end, lessons and instructions, which will ensure the blossoming forth of a child into a worthy citizen on whom the immediate society and nation can be proud of, will be imparted.

Great importance is given to discipline and emphasis is laid on a very high standard of class conduct and personal behaviour. Students in Class VII-X must obtain a pass grade in SUPW and Community Service for promotion. The same ruling applies to ISC students.
